The sweet YES could give you enduring problems when a simple, polite NO is just like a bitter pill

Yes is a very humble word. People will always expect yes from the other. We usually say 'yes' just to be nice although we do not really mean 'yes'. However, this is where problems surfaces. Saying no is not a selfish attitude. It's their need and want, not yours saying no means you do not want to promise on things you are not going to do as in helping other people

Remember how many books you've read, how many things you've learned but you can't recall most of them?

Starting from the first day of school, teachers tell us stories, then once we can read on our owns we start to read a lot more, absorbing as much information as our brain could. Then this goes on to middle school, high school, and college. What we read is not limited to education-related materials; we read newspapers, magazines, articles, and many more. We read on our daily basis. However, do we remember what we've read? As students we might ponder wasting time reading a lot of materials but do not make us learn from what we have read. Our memory is to small to retain information. This is particularly stressful to those who are taking a Phd level, or an expert in some field. While we may read for temporary goal, sometimes we wish that we read for our life because believing that we will always need that particular info.
